The Kia Optima is one seriously cool and sophisticated machine, so it was only a matter of time before they made one suitable for Master Wayne.
Okay, so this Kia Optima might be missing a few key ingredients that made the last Batmobile (or the Tumbler as it was properly known) so damn great. Features like bullet proof armour and hood mounted machine guns mainly, but it’s still pretty cool.
The Batman-themed Optima marks the beginning of a 10-month partnership with DC comics to raise awareness for DC’s We Can Be Heroes campaign. The whole thing will be centred on the Justice League, so here’s to hoping we’ll see a few other super hero themed motors in the not too distant future.
So, what have they done? Well, this Optima was given a matte and piano black paint scheme with a giant bat symbol on the side and also under the Kia badge. The grille itself has been replaced for a custom bat shaped grille and yellow neon’s illuminate the underside of the car.
Sadly, it’s a one off piece and you won’t see it in your local Kia dealer anytime soon as it will be on display at the Time Warner Centre in New York. Ah well, at least it’s all for a good cause.
