Are you heading away with the missus anytime soon? Well according to the latest figures from Hotels.com you’ll spend a pretty penny to stay in Kilkenny.

Whether you’re heading down the country for a romantic getaway with the missus or if you’re heading off on a boozy lads weekend, just remember that there are some serious bargains to be had in Ireland – when it comes to cheap hotel rooms that is.

However, you may be hard pushed finding a serious bargain in Kilkenny if the figures from Hotels.com’s latest Hotel Price Index are to be believed. The average price for a hotel room in Ireland is roughly €81, however, in Kilkenny the average price is more like €96.

Galway and Killarney aren’t too far behind as the average price of a hotel room in those parts is €94. Fairly steep for a night’s stay, we think you’ll agree.

Anyone who is planning on a little break away is being urged to shop around for a good deal and you’re more likely to find one in Limerick, according to the latest figures.

The average cost of a room in Limerick is only €64 per night, which is a good €30 cheaper than the average price in Kilkenny. Not bad…
