Flights around Ireland

This one is about as last minute as they come – Irish carrier Aer Arann is running an offer which expires at midnight tonight (Wednesday 15 September). If you want to go for the staycation option, which is looking increasingly appealing with news that Ireland is now the cheapest in Western Europe on average hotel prices, then this might be for you. Aer Arann is offering flights from Dublin to Donegal, Galway, Knock and Sligo for €25. They also have flights to Derry and the Isle of Man for €35. Both offers are one way with all taxes included and you’re looking at travelling before the end of March 2011.

Secret Hotels

www.lastminute.ie is running their famous ‘Secret Hotels’ offer again this week. The deal is they will hook you up with a stay in a four or five star hotel in Dublin or in a number of UK cities for a knock-down price.

The catch is, the hotels don’t want it known that they are practically giving some rooms away while charging others top dollar. But although you don’t get to know the name of the hotel you will be staying in until you’ve booked, you can rest assured it will be a swanky little number. Click here for more information.

Premier League trips

Thomas Cook Sport has launched in Ireland and is targeting our Premier League fans with a string of deals on trips to games in the UK. The company has also been announced as Ireland’s only official ticket supplier to 10 of the UK’s top clubs – Manchester Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Celtic, Rangers, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Newcastle Utd. This means fans will no longer face problems at the gate as clubs clamp down on ticket re-sales.

Here are some examples of upcoming packages:

Manchester Utd v West Brom on 16 October with an overnight in Manchester for €223.

Liverpool v Blackburn on 23 October with overnight in Liverpool for €263.

The Old Firm derby on 1 January with overnight in Glasgow for €248.

Prices are per person sharing on a B&B basis with match programme, and do not include travel. Group rates are available.
