Legendary movie star Michael Clarke Duncan dies aged 54

Michael Clarke Duncan, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Green Mile, has died in hospital aged 54-years-old due to complications stemming from a heart attack.

Michael Clarke Duncan, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Green Mile, has died in hospital aged 54-years-old due to complications stemming from a heart attack.

Duncan’s publicist Joy Fehily released a statement from Clarke’s fiancée, Omarosa Manigault, this morning saying that Duncan had died in hospital on Monday morning at a Los Angeles hospital after nearly two months of treatment following a heart attack in July.

The 6ft 4in actor has appeared in a number of movies since he started acting only twenty years ago.

His roles saw him act in the likes of Armageddon, Planet of the Apes, The Whole Nine Yards, Sin City, Daredevil, Talladega Nights and School for Scoundrels… just to name a few.

But his defining role was undoubtedly his performance as John Coffey in The Green Mile alongside Tom Hanks.

Duncan also enjoyed some TV airtime featuring in Two and a Half Men with Charlie Sheen.

It’s sure to be a sad day for movie lovers everywhere.
