The recession is over, technically at least, but the second-hand car market signals otherwise, as Merlin Car Auctions announce their seventh liquidation auction in 12 months.
Over 100 ex-finance and liquidation cars go under the hammer at the next Merlin Car Auctions liquidation sale from 11am on Saturday, 7 August as the second-hand market remains healthy.
With a €2 million sale value on the vehicles, organisers expect that this bargain auction will be a big draw for buyers hoping to avail of a car with massive savings on forecourt prices.
Cars included in the sale range from a 05 Audi A3 to a 04 BMW X5 and a 09 Nissan Micras to a 07 Skoda Octavia.

Merlin Motor Group CEO, Merlin O’Reilly, has seen liquidation auctions go from strength to strength. “This time last year, we’d never even held a liquidation auction, and now we’ve had seven since November. They’re becoming more and more well known as a great way to bag a bargain, especially when combined with a ‘no reserve’ sale. They are always very well attended, so I would recommend bidders to arrive early on the day to secure your bid.â€
As part of the auction, a further 200 vehicles will be auctioned to the highest bidder. Over 1000 vehicles are auctioned at Merlin’s bi-weekly auctions in Naas every Wednesday at 7pm and every Saturday at 11am.
