The radio show Good Morning Ulster on BBC Radio Ulster was tastelessly pranked live on air recently with a Jimmy Savile related joke.
This audio clip which was uploaded to Reddit’s r/Ireland by redditor VassiliZaitsev, features BBC Radio Ulster’s Karen Patterson falling victim to a prank text that obviously made it through the filters and ended up being read out live on air. It’s cringe worthy stuff.
Someone texted into the studio to say ‘Jimmy Savile wasn’t so bad’ and that when the texter was 8 ‘Jimmy fixed it so they could milk a cow blinded folded’.
In light of the recent revelations about Savile and his activities, it’s a fairly tasteless joke that’s sure to offend some people. Thankfully, Patterson realised the error she made and apologised shortly after.
