We’re big fans of Dublin restaurant Jo’Burger, a place that has built a strong reputation on the back of their tasty, high-quality burgers. For JOE, they’ve come up with a range of burgers that match the teams currently playing in the 2010 World Cup.
Today we bring you… The Italian. It’s made with minced lamb and features a trio of Italian culinary staples: rocket, Parma ham and parmesan. It’s perfect to eat if Italy are playing, but clearly not exclusively so.
The Italian Burger (serves 4)
Ingredients:
2lbs/1kg minced lamb
1 lemon
1 pkt parma ham
Lump of parmesan (shave with a potato peeler or get shaved parmesan in a packet)
A big spoon mayo
A bag washed rocket
Salt & pepper
Buns of your choice
Instructions
Season your lamb mince with salt & pepper and the juice of half a lemon. Knead the meat well and divide into 4/5 burger patties. Grill, bbq or pan-fry six minutes per side.
Mix the lemon juice from the remaining half lemon with mayo. Toast/warm the buns.
Cut the bun in half and on the bottom half add a spoon of the lemon mayo, then add a burger, then the shaved parmesan, then the rocket, then the parma ham and finally a spot more lemon mayo.
That’s all there is to it! Eat and enjoy.
