As if telling people you’re going for a sh*t wasn’t bad enough, one bloke in Canada has taken the term ‘sharing’ to a whole new level, by tweeting while proposing to his missus.
Mike Duerksen, from Winnipeg in Canada, sent out (or ‘oout’ in his case) dozens of tweets with the hashtag #MikeProposes while he proposed to his missus last Friday.
Mike announced his proposal plans late on Thursday evening, tweeting to the world: “Tomorrow I’m proposing to my girlfriend. I’ll be using the hashtag #MikeProposes. Follow along! #Winnipeg”.
He then went on to tell the world little about himself and his bride-to-be Janelle Freed, in 140 characters or less of course.
Mike took Janelle to eight different locations before dropping to his knew and popping the question. Eight different places? Setting the bar a bit high for the rest of us is he not?
During the whole live tweet session, Mike managed to rack up a total of over 1,500 followers, most of whom are still following the non-profit communications and PR guy.
In case you were wondering, no… His new fiancé does not have Twitter. That would have been a bit of a giveaway.
