Mayo hurler Adrian Freeman has lost his life in a road accident in Melbourne, Australia.
Freeman, from Tooreen, represented his county in the National hurling league and the Christy Ring Cup last year and also represented Connacht in the inter -provincial championships. He was also a talented footballer and played for the Aughamore club.
Robbie Twomey, from county Kerry, was also killed in the accident which occurred in Connewarre, Victoria at 5.40am Irish time on Saturday morning.
Two other Irish men travelling in the car escaped with minor injuries.
