Floyd Mayweather Jr is wanted by police after allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend in Las Vegas.
According to reports, Josie Harris, who has three children with Mayweather, was treated for minor injuries at a Southern Hills Hospital at 3am local time and released.
“At this point, Mr. Mayweather is a suspect in a domestic battery violence case, and we would very much like to speak with him,” a Las Vegas police spokesman, Bill Cassell, said.
The revelations come in the wake of controversy arising from a video posted on the internet by Mayweather recently in which he attacks fellow boxer Manny Pacquaio.
A fight between Mayweather and Pacquaio has been touted for a long time but has been held up by a disagreement between the rival camps.
In the video, Mayweather refers to Pacquaio as ‘Poochy’, calls him a midget and talks up his chances of defeating Pacquaio should a fight ever occur between the two boxers.
