Graeme McDowell has narrowly qualified for the US Open in June by remaining inside the world top 50.
McDowell had a disappointing run in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth over the weekend finishing tied for 28th place.
That finish however, combined with the final standings at the Byron Nelson Championship in Texas, means that the Portrush man is now placed 49th in the world and will be exempt from 36-hole qualifying event at Walton Heath.
Rory McIlroy is currently the leading Irish player in the world rankings at number nine, while Padraig Harrington is ranked 14th.
