Dublin is to receive a new cinema at the end of March, located close to the popular O2 arena.
The news of a new cinema opening in Dublin comes only days after it was announced that the Light House Cinema in Smithfield would be reopening its doors to the public after shutting down due to soaring rent prices.
Point Pictures will open its doors around the end of March and it will be located near the O2… or The Point as it was once called. The cinema will be the first Odeon cinema in the Republic of Ireland and it will have up to 12 screens. We might even see some stars at the new cinema, as it will have the capacity to hose international premieres according to the Irish Times.
The site of Point Pictures currently employs around 100 people and the cinema is expected to employ 75 people when it’s complete.
You might be able to save a few quid too as packages will be offered to those going to the O2 and the Grand Canal Theatre along with those who are staying in the Gibson Hotel. Well, you can’t complain with that now can you?
Now, lets just hope it lasts longer then the big wheel.
