If you’re looking to have a laugh and a few drinks with some of your close mates then why not check out the live stand-up comedy on offer in the capital…

One of the best things to do with a few mates in Dublin’s City Centre is to take in the sights and sounds at the various comedy clubs. Three of the best venues to find some of Ireland’s best comedic talent in Dublin are The International Comedy Club, The Laughter Lounge and the Capital Comedy Club.

Here’s a look at what’s on in each venue over the coming week…

The Laughter Lounge

June 20/21/22 – Fr. Ted Special

This Thursday, Friday and Saturday will see a Father Ted themed show take place in The Laughter Lounge as Joe Rooney, aka Fr. Damo, and Patrick McDonnell, aka Eoin McLove, take to the stage with their hilarious ramblings.

John Brennan, winner of the Bulmers Comedy Competition 2011 and Colum McDonnell, voted top comedian of 2012 by The Laughter Lounge staff, will also take to the stage on the night. Doors are 7pm and tickets start from just €26. Click here for more.

The Capital Comedy Club

June 19 – James Goldsbury + guests

This Wednesday at the Capital Comedy Club in the Ha’Penny Bridge Inn, James Goldsbury will headline with David Reilly, Keith Mitchell and Shane Hughes all giving their support. Doors are at 9.15pm and tickets cost just €5. For more click here.

June 23 – Al Porter + guests

This coming Sunday will see Al Porter headlining on the night with Kenny Gaughan, Cian Mcgarrigle, Ruairi Woods, Darrach Mcgarrigle and Christian Talbot all performing too. It’s sure to be a great night out, so make sure to register your interest early by clicking here. Doors are 9.15pm and tickets cost just €5.

The International Comedy Club

The International Comedy Club hosts weekly comedy events from Thursday through Sunday. Tickets for shows on Thursday through Saturday cost €10 (€8 for students) and tickets for Sunday shows cost just €5. Sadly, there’s no word yet as to who will be playing this week, but keep your eyes peeled on their Facebook and Twitter pages to keep up to date.

So, grab a few mates and get down to the nearest comedy club for all the laughs and bants you can handle. What are you waiting for? Now Is A Good Time!
