Tomás Ó Sé will miss Kerry’s All-Ireland quarter-final after accepting a one month ban proposed by the CCCC arising from an incident in the Kingdom’s Munster Final victory over Limerick.

Ó Sé was involved in a number of unsavoury incidents with Limerick forward Stephen Kelly during the opening half of the encounter in Killarney, but the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) picked up on incident in the 20th minute when Ó Sé appeared to strike Kelly in the head with his elbow just after Kelly had kicked a point for his side.

Ó Sé and the Kerry County Board were notified by the CCCC that he was charged with a category two offence for striking with an elbow, the penalty for which is a one month suspension and exclusion from Kerry’s next championship game.

On Wednesday morning, the Kerry County Board confirmed that O Se will not request a hearing and will accept a ban that will see him miss out on the quarter-final to take place over the weekend 31 July – 2 August.
