Dublin forward Eoghan O’Gara has been released from hospital after swallowing his tongue during a club game on Wednesday night.
O’Gara, who formed a lethal partnership with Bernard Brogan in the Dublin full-forward line during the summer, suffered the injury after an accidental clash of heads during a club game between O’Gara’s side, Templeogue Synge Street, and Ballymun Kickhams.
The incident caused a 20-minute delay while O’Gara was being treated on the pitch before he was removed to hospital by ambulance.
O’Gara subsequently underwent a CT scan and was given the all-clear by doctors.
