O’Neill and McMahon feature for clubs

Tyrone have been handed a double injury boost ahead of their championship clash with Antrim

Tyrone boss Mickey Harte has been handed a huge double boost ahead of the championship as both Stephen O’Neill and Joe McMahon returned to club action at the weekend.

McMahon came off the bench for Omagh while O’Neill scored six points for Clann na Gael on Sunday.

Harte was at the Omagh game at Healy Park and was obviously pleased with the news.

The three-time All-Ireland winning boss said: “Joe came on after 20 minutes and did well and didn’t seem to have any adverse affects from his recent knee injury.

“I’ll have a chat with him on Tuesday night at training and see how he feels.

“Stephen was going very well at training last week and we knew that he wasn’t far away.

The news that he scored six points for his club doesn’t come as a surprise as we all know how high quality a finisher he is.

“Its important now that he gets game-time under his belt ahead of the Antrim game in a few weeks’ time.”
