The MCD chief, Denis Desmond, has announced that Oxegen will return to the Irish festival line-up this year, after a one-year hiatus in 2012.
Did you miss getting drunk in the mud and sleeping in tents with random strangers last year? Not to mention selling your clothes for a few extra cans? Well fret no more friends, MCD’s Denis Desmond has confirmed that Oxegen, and all it has to offer, is coming back to its usual home of Punchestown Racecourse, Co. Kildare.
There is a slight change to the festival this year, though. Instead of the usual three-day event (which generally kicked off on the Thursday in later years) Oxegen 2013 will just be a two-day event.
While this will be great news to some fans, it will come as heart-breaking news to others, as the festival will be held on August 3 and 4, the same weekend as Indiependence and Castlepalooza.
This could have a serious impact on the smaller festivals, as a lot of people surely would have liked to go to Oxegen and one of the other two festivals. However, we’ll have to wait and see what the line up is like first before we start worrying about that.
The line up for Oxegen 2013 is expected to be revealed sometime in late February, so keep your eyes peeled for when that comes out. Everyone from Elton John to Eminem are rumoured at this stage. We just hope Amanda Brunker makes a reappearance… yea right.
