Arjen Robben will be fit to play in Holland’s opener against Denmark next Monday according to his physiotherapist Dick van Toorn.
Robben was deemed a major doubt after sustaining a hamstring injury in Holland’s friendly win over Hungary last Saturday and remained at home for treatment while the quad travelled to South Africa in preparation for their campaign.
The Bayern Munich star will fly to Johannesburg on Saturday to join up with the squad and ‘wonder healer’ Van Toorn is adamant that Robben will be fit for selection against Denmark.
“I think that he can play,†Van Toorn said.
“If they don’t want him to play for tactical reasons, then fair enough, but one cannot say that he will not be fit to play.
“But I say fit is fit. If Arjen no longer has any pain, then he is fit and then he must also play,” insisted Van Toorn.â€
