He only signed for Liverpool yesterday and he took out a full page advert today to express his gratitude to Southampton and their fans.
He obviously left Southampton with a heavy heart (and an even heavier bank balance, eh?) and felt the need to express his gratitude to the club and their fans. He went to the trouble of placing a full page advert in the local paper to do it.
It’s a nice move by the England midfielder and we are sure he’ll get the reception he deserves when he returns to St Mary’s next season wearing the colours of Liverpool.
