PlayStation Move, Sony’s new motion controlled gaming system, will be released on 17 September – the manufacturer has revealed.
Sony announced the news during a Move demo session held for technology journalists in Dublin’s Radisson Hotel earlier this week.
Sony are packaging the system in a PlayStaion Move starter pack priced at €59.99 which will include a Move motion controller, a PlayStation Eye camera and a Move start disc featuring demos of upcoming games for the peripheral.
PlayStation Move differs from similar systems, the Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 Kinect, in that it features both a motion-detecting camera and motion sensitive controllers – essentially the best of both its rival’s motion efforts.
The Move controller will also be made available as a standalone device for €39.99.
NBA 2K11, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2011, Time Crisis: Razing Storm and Toy Story 3 are all set to arrive on Move in the coming months.
