Stoke 1-2 Tottenham
West Brom 1-0 Sunderland
West Ham 1-3 Bolton
Following the highs of their 4-0 victory over Wigan last weekend, Blackpool were brought down to earth with a bang after being hit for six by Arsenal at the Emirates.
Theo Walcott grabbed a hat-trick for the Gunners, with Andrei Arshavin, Abou Diaby and Marouane Chamakh also getting on the scoresheet.
The Tangerines had Ian Evett controversially sent off after 32 minutes for a foul on Marouane Chamakh, which referee Mike Jones gave as a penalty, even though the foul  appeared to take place outside the penalty area.
Craig Gardner scored twice for Birmingham City as Alex McLeish’s side came from behind to defeat Blackburn Rovers at St. Andrews. Steven N’Zonzi put the visitors in front ten minutes into the second half with a header from Morten Gamst Pedersen’s cross. Pedersen had earlier missed an opportunity to put Blackburn in front from the penalty spot, but saw his spot-kick brilliantly saved by Ben Foster.
Gardner equalized three minutes after N’Zonzi’s opener and fired home the winner from 25 yards after 71 minutes.
David Moyes’ Everton remain on only one point after two games after Sylvain Ebanks Blake cancelled out Tim Cahill’s opener to earn Wolves a deserved point at Goodison Park.
Cahill opened the scoring two minutes before the break after the Wolves’ wall had charged down Mikael Arteta’s free-kick.
With just over 15 minutes to go, Ebanks Blake converted Kevin Doyle’s cross and Mick McCarthy’s side held on for a well-earned point.
Two goals from Gareth Bale earned Tottenham Hotspur their first win of the season away at Stoke, but the victory was not without controversy as referee Chris Foy failed to award an 86th minute Stoke goal, even though new signing Jon Walters’ header appeared to cross the line.
Bale opened the scoring in the 19th minute, bundling the ball home from close range after a Peter Crouch cross, but Stoke were level within six minutes after Ricardo Fuller beat Huerelho Gomes with a close-range finish.
Bale restored Spurs’ lead on the half-hour mark with a stunning left-foot volley that will definitely be a contender for goal of the season. Harry Redknapp’s men held on for victory at the end despite Stoke‘s best efforts, but the failure to award Walters’ goal will be a major talking point as the debate about goal-line technology continues.
New signing Peter Odemwingie made a dream start to his West Brom career, scoring the only goal of the game nine minutes from time to give the Baggies a 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Hawthorns.
West Ham conceded three goals for the second week in succession, after two goals from Johan Elmander helped Bolton to a 3-1 victory at Upton Park.
Matthew Upson scored an own goal for the Hammers, while Carlton Cole saw his first half penalty saved by Jussi Jaaskelainen. Mark Noble was West Ham’s goalscorer on the day, netting from the penalty spot on 79 minutes after Gary Cahill was adjudged to have fouled Scott Parker in the penalty area.
