Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has cancelled two meetings with new chairman Martin Broughton as speculation continues to hang over the Spaniard’s future at Anfield.
Last week’s Europa League exit means Benitez has gone four seasons without a trophy and they have also failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Benitez said last week he wished to meet his new chairman “sooner rather than laterâ€, but it has now emerged he cancelled two face-to-face meetings.
It is reported Rafa pulled out of one meeting last week and another the week before. Liverpool have refused to comment on the issue, and there is no official reason why Rafa pulled out of talking with Broughton over the future of both himself and the club.
