A Russian bookie wishes to hire Paul the Octopus for a salary of $60000 a year, according to reports.
Bet-League owner Oleg Zhuravsky said to Russian newspaper Soviet Sport, “Our specialists receive around 3,000 dollars a month. So we will pay Paul 5,000. He will be one of our 120 staff employees.”
Zhuravsky is willing to pay up $100,000 for the Cephalopod, who lives in the Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen in Germany.
Paul shot to fame during the World Cup for correctly predicting the correct winners of all of Germany’s matches, as well as the final between Spain and Holland.
