Sligo give two debutants the nod

Sligo manager Kevin Walsh has named debutants Keelan Cawley and Colm McGee in his side to face Mayo in the Connacht SFC quarter-final.

Sligo manager Kevin Walsh has named debutants Keelan Cawley and Colm McGee in his side to face Mayo in the Connacht SFC quarter-final in Markievicz Park on Saturday.

Both championship newcomers have featured for the Yeats County men in the National Football League campaign which ended with a Division 3 title.

Sharp-shooting corner-forward David Kelly has made a recovery from an ankle injury in time to take up his spot in the full-forward line alongside McGee and Kenneth Sweeney.

Cawley will play at right half-back and will have a wealth of experience around him including captain Charles Harrison and Ross Donavan in the corner-back positions.

Mayo native Alan Costelloe will line-out at centre forward and will have Eamonn O’Hara and Mark Breheny for company in attack.
