Are you currently a moneyless student who has yet to pay your fees? If so, you would want to watch your back, because the debt collectors could be coming your way.
The Students Union of Ireland has today hit out at certain universities for calling in debt collectors to chase after students who have yet to pay their college fees.
According to a report from the Irish Independent, University College Dublin is now following in the footsteps of the University of Limerick, who are currently collecting late fees through a debt collecting agency.
It seems like a bit of a harsh move to some students who are still trying to adjust after only recently receiving their grants thanks to a breakdown in the SUSI system, which was being used to allocate the money.
The news comes as colleges and universities find themselves in a similar situation as the students; that being that they have no spare cash… So if you hear a knock at the door, it could be the debt collectors looking for ‘a chat’.
