Nearly 40 per cent of Irish drivers admit to getting angry behind the wheel at least once a week.
It looks like Irish drivers could take some advice from the Fine Gael TD Simon Harris and ‘chillax’ as a new survey shows that nearly two fifths of Irish motorists shout and get angry behind the wheel on a weekly basis.
The survey, which was conducted by Continental Tyres, shows more than one in 10 Irish motorists admit to daily bouts of road rage, while 13 per cent have gone as far as to get out of their car to confront another driver.
The most common form of ‘road rage’ was noted as getting a blast from other motorists, followed by offensive hand gestures and being ‘tailgated’.
So who are the culprits and instigators of your road rage? Well, over half of people questioned think learner drivers are the most annoying, while 45% say older or slow drivers are worst and 43% cited boy racers as simply infuriating.
