Phil Taylor won the World Matchplay Championship in Blackpool following an 18-12 victory in the final over World number two Raymond van Barneveld.
Both players held their throw in the first six legs, before Taylor finally broke Van Barneveld in the seventh.
The Dutchman was playing catch-up for the rest of the contest, while Taylor had impressive check-outs of 105 in the 16th leg and 135 in the 18th.
Taylor averaged 105.16 and landed nine 180s in the final.
It was Taylor’s eleventh World Matchplay title in total, as well as his third consecutive success in the competition.
Taylor picked up a check for £100,000, while second place Van Barneveld, who managed a nine dart finish in the first round against Denis Ovens, collected £50,000.
