How does watching unlimited movies and TV programmes for €6.99 a month sound? Pretty freaking awesome sounds about right.
Netflix has finally launched in the Republic of Ireland today, as well as the UK, and it will see customers paying just €6.99 a month for all their favourite movies and TV programmes from around the world.
However, with most people having smart phones and/or tablet computers these days, will streaming movies kill off your local DVD rental shop?
Starting today, people across the country can begin a free one-month trial of the Netflix service by simply logging on and signing up.
After your free month long trial is up, you can choose to get rid of your account or continue to watch all your favourite movies for only €6.99 a month – which, in fairness, is pretty reasonable.
So what calibre of content is there on Netflix we hear you ask? Well, you can expect the likes of The Expendables, Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Breaking Bad, 24, 90210 and previous full seasons of UK favourites including The Only Way is Essex, Top Gear and The Inbetweeners, just to name the first shows that came up on the site.
There are literally tens of thousands of hours of top quality viewing available on Netflix and more TV shows and movies are expected to be added to the site in the coming months.
Will you join the Netflix revolution? Or will you continue to avail of the ‘Two movies – Two night’s – Eight euro’ deal that’s in your local DVD shop? Two movies for €8 a go, or unlimited movies for €6.99 a month?
Netflix it is then.
