Thanks to a burst of last minute warm weather, experts are saying we probably won’t be getting a white Christmas this year.
If you were planning on creating an army of snowmen to guard your stash of Christmas booze then you may forget it, as we probably wont be getting snow this weekend. According to Irish Central, experts are predicting that Christmas Day temperatures could reach as high as 11 degrees Celsius which would see us left with nothing more then a sludgy mess if it does snow before then.
Overall the weather has improved over the past few days as cloud cover comes in keeping temperatures up and also melting any ice that has formed. Forecasters from the Met Eireann weather service say the weather will continue to improve throughout the week.
“It doesn’t look at this stage like we are going to have a white Christmas,” said forecaster Joanna Donnelly to Irish Central. This comes a year on from the knee-deep snow some of us had to endure on the walk to Christmas morning Mass.
“Monday will see rain and a return to more normal temperatures. Temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will range between 7C to 10C, increasing on Wednesday.”
