Ospreys flanker Jonathan Thomas has spoken of his side’s need to win silverware ahead of the Magners League final against Leinster on Saturday.
Leinster, who topped the Magners League table, are red-hot favourites for the Grand Final in the RDS this Saurday but the experienced Wales international feels that the Ospreys are in with a shout.
“By our own standards we will be disappointed this season if we don’t pick up some silverware,†Thomas said.
“We are certainly capable of doing that but Dublin is a tough place to go and we are playing the former European champions.
“Our season will be judged, from outside, as a failure if we don’t win. Our goals at the start of the season were to win Europe and win the Magners. If we don’t do that then, as a squad, we will feel we have underachieved.
“It will be hard but we are confident of what we can do on the road – and we won’t be daunted by the challenge.
“We know it’s not going to be a pushover but we are confident in our ability.â€
The Magners League final between Leinster and the Ospreys kicks-off at 6.30pm this Saturday at the RDS, Dublin.
