Three debuts for Tipp

Tipperary hurling manager Liam Sheedy has handed three players their Championship debuts for Saturday’s All-Ireland senior hurling qualifier against Wexford.

Tipperary hurling manager Liam Sheedy has handed three players their Championship debuts for Saturday afternoon’s All-Ireland senior hurling qualifier against Wexford.

David Young will take his place in the half back line with Patrick Maher and Gearoid Ryan coming into the side in either wing forward position.

Sheedy has completely changed his full back line, with Paddy Stapleton and Paul Curran both ruled out through injury and Padraic Maher shifted from full back to the half back line.

Former All-Star number three Declan Fanning and Michael Cahill drop from wing half back positions into the full back line, where they’re joined by Conor O’Brien.

Forwards John O’Brien and Brian ‘Buggy’ O’Meara, who made his debut in the defeat to Cork, drop out of the side.

Wexford manager Colm Bonnar also make four changes in personnel, with Tomas Waters, Paul Roche, David Redmond and Tomas Mahon coming into the side.

Centre forward Diarmuid Lyng is suspended while Lar Prendergast, Malachy Travers and Mick Jacob drop out.
