Why did the chicken McNugget sell on eBay for a whopping $8,100? Well, because it looks a bit like someone famous, apparently.
After reading this, you won’t be shouting at your kids to finish their meals, not until you’ve checked for any dead look-a-likes left on the plate. A chicken McNugget in the States – where else – has sold for a mouth watering $8,100 on the internet auction site eBay.
The McNugget may have been sold for the price of a small nugget of gold, however, it’s three years old, so the buyer probably won’t be eating it anytime soon.
You must be thinking, “why in the name of Jaysus would someone pay over $8,000 for a piece of out-of-date fast food?” Well, because it looks a bit like George Washington according to its founder Rebekah Speight of Dakota City.
In case you were wondering, the buyer is remaining nameless – which frankly is unsurprising.
Speaking to Sioux City Journal about finding the cut of a deceased president in her children’s meal, Ms Speight said, “Sometimes it’s OK if children don’t finish [their food].” Especially when their leftovers net you $8,000.
The nugget has remained wrapped up in Ms Speight’s freezer for the past three years, however, we’re not sure why she didn’t just spend $8,000 on frozen chicken nuggets so she could find one that looks like Jesus. Those must be worth around $20,000 in today’s economy.
