Robbie Fowler, Liverpool FC and a host of others pay respect on the anniversary of the Munich disaster
Today marks the 56th anniversary of the Munich air crash, in which so many of the ‘Busby Babes’ lost their lives as they were making the return journey from a match against Red Star Belgrade in the European Cup.
Despite years of clashes and heated confrontations between teams on the pitch, clubs and players alike have been tweeting out their tributes to those who died and marking the occasion, reminding us that there are some things more important than footballing rivalries.
