Peter Kay kicks off Channel 4’s Funny Fortnight with his hilarious new The Tour That Didn’t Tour – Tour. But hang on… Channel 4’s funny fortnight, what’s that all about then?
Well, it’s actually a selection of different comedy acts comprising of new shows, stand-up performances and archive treats – so there’s something for everyone in the family. But it’s Peter Kay’s The Tour That Didn’t Tour – Tour (Channel 4, Thursday, 10pm) that we’re most interested in.
Here, the Bolton man brings his Tour That Didn’t Tour – Tour to the small screen for the first time, and the show includes previously unseen footage (in other words, not on the DVD), in a show that saw him only returning to live performances after a massive seven-year break. We’re just glad he’s back and better than ever.
His tour included a 40 night slot at the Manchester Arena and he also came over to our shores last year, so if you didn’t manage to catch him in the flesh you can catch him in the comfort of your own living room this Thursday.
With the Olympics finally over for another four years, you can forget about sport (until the football kicks off this weekend) and indulge yourself in some of the finest comedy that Channel 4 has to offer.
So, stick the kettle on and put the feet up as Peter Kay does his best to tickle your funny bone.
