Tyrone defender Conor Gormley is confident that he will back in action for the Red Hand’s Ulster SFC semi-final with either Donegal or Down on 19 June.
Gormley is making a fast recovery from a knee injury which he sustained last month while playing for his club Carrickmore.
The three-time All Star is preparing to make himself available to manager Mickey Harte for selection as Tyrone bid to retain the Anglo Celt Cup.
“I had a bit of a tear in the medial knee ligaments and it had been slow to heal in the beginning.
“But it’s coming on well at the minute and I’m happy enough with it,†Gormley said.
“I have been doing a lot of rehab with the Tyrone physio Louis O’Connor, including plenty of squats and straight leg running, and hopefully I will continue to make progress over the next month and be available for Tyrone’s next game.
“I’m itching to get back as there is no substitute for playing.
“I’m not a good spectator and it was hateful to be watching last Sunday although in that heat I was glad to be sitting in the shade at Casement Park.â€
