The Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber will begin Sunday’s British Grand Prix at the front of the grid after a dominant performance in qualifying at Silverstone.
Vettel claimed pole position, finishing just ahead of Red Bull team-mate Webber with the next driver, Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, well adrift in third, finishing nearly 0.8 seconds behind Vettel in first.
It’s the fifth time this season that the Red Bull cars have occupied the front row of the grid after qualifying. Lewis Hamilton will line up alongside Alonso in fourth, while McLaren team-mate and reigning world champion Jensen Button will start the race way back in 14th after experiencing problems with his car during qualifying.
Nico Rosberg and Robert Kubica will begin the race in fifth and six positions, with Felipe Massa and Rubens Barrichello behind them in seventh and eight positions respectively.
