Billabong has finally announced the nominees for the Wipeout of the Year 2013.
Judging by the painful looking videos of the nominees, the Billabong XXL Wipeout of the Year is certainly an accolade you wouldn’t actively seek out.
Basically, the award goes to the gnarliest surfing fail caught on camera over the course of a competition year, and this year’s competition looks like it’s going to be a close one.
The nominees included in the best-worst wipeout are Axi Muniain, Brett Burcher, Chris Shanahan, Joao de Macedo and Tom Dosland. Check out their surfing fails in the video above.
The winners of the 2013 Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards will be revealed on the 3rd May, so keep your eyes peeled if you want to see who’s the winner, or ‘the best loser’ as it were.
