We’ll admit that we’re not the biggest fans of Kesha-with-a-dollar-sign, but this country and western cover of her song ‘Die Young’ is a must listen.
Jazz pianist Scott Bradlee and a few of his mates got together on a day off work and made this simply sublime tune. It’s just a shame that it was originally sung by the hot mess that is Ke$ha, but in fairness to the guys here they’ve made the track one of our current favourites.
It works extremely good as a saloon style tune and it doesn’t hurt that the lead singer Robyn Adele Anderson is easy on the eyes and has a fine set of lungs. The rest of the band is comprised of David Wong – violin, Adam Kubota – bass and Allan Mednard on the drums.
Here’s the original in case you want to make a comparison… not that you should.
