This guy in Ranelagh fought the law, and the law clearly won.

Remember the episode of The Simpsons where the family goes to New York to get Homer’s car back? Well, Homer’s car was clamped in between the Twin Towers and he wanted to get out of the city before the ‘weirdoes’ came out, so he took off in search of the rest of the family, even though his car was still clamped. It was funny in the cartoon and it’s even funnier in real life…

According to the above video’s uploader, Mark Kelly, the man was in Ranelagh at the time, and it’s not as if he didn’t notice the clamp in question… “I initially stopped while he was in traffic assuming he didn’t realise ‘coz he was oldish. However, he told me ‘feck the clampers, they can go to hell’ as he drove off down Ranelagh main street been persued by them [sic].”

It’s pretty funny, but we can’t help feel like the damage the bloke caused to his car – and probably the road – will cost a lot more than the initial fine.

Oh go on, for old times sake here’s that Simpsons clip we were talking about…
