A fine bit of business by Roberto Martinez has brought Barca youngster Gerard Deulofeu to Goodison on a season-long loan. Here’s what Everton fans can expect.

In a change from his current policy of trying to recreate the Wigan team from the 2010-11 season, Roberto Martinez appears to have pulled in a Spanish starlet today. And a very good one at that.

Gerard Deulofeu is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder who has been a regular for the Barca B team and has made one or two appearances for the senior side. He has an impressive tally of underage caps from the U16s all the way up to the U21s and as you may have spotted, the Spanish underage sides are pretty handy.

Earlier this year he signed on with Barca until 2017 but now the Catalan club have decided to let him go on loan for a year, with Everton all but confirmed as his destination. And this is very good news for Everton as the boy looks to be pretty tasty.

Feast your eyes on this YouTube compilation of Deulofeu in action. We’d be very happy if we were a Toffees supporter today.
