Organisers of a fireworks display in Edinburgh have had to apologise after a freak firework caused a massive colourful explosion.

Anyone who travelled to Oxgangs Brae in Scotland for a firework display last night certainly witnessed something they won’t forget anytime soon. According to reports, a freak firework rocketed into a pile of other fireworks waiting to go off and created the explosion above.

It’s believed £2,000 worth of fireworks was used in the show, which seems like quite a lot of fireworks if you ask us. One girl suffered a burn to the side of her face and was treated in hospital last night but luckily, no one else was seriously injured.

The people who organised the event, Pentland Community Centre, stressed that this was a freak accident, the first they’ve seen in 10 years.
