We’ve seen this type of thing on Sky’s Road Wars many a time at 2am in the morning, but we’ve never seen it actually happen on Irish roads.

A car chase involving two Volvo XC70 Garda cars resulted in minor collision at the weekend when the car being chased, an Opel Astra estate, ended up crashing into the central barrier on the M1.

There’s not much information about the video, which was uploaded onto YouTube by Crime.ie, but it looks as though the Gardaí in question saw their opportunity to sideswipe, or T-bone, the getaway car in order to bring it to a halt. Having said that, we could be wrong (the details are sketchy).

The lads succeed in stopping the fleeing driver and they’re quick to bring things under control after the initial crash.

The video was originally uploaded onto Facebook by Henry O’Rielly who said, “No idea why they were being chased. I just had to press button on phone to start recording [sic]. The driver put up such a struggle that his trousers and underwear were around his ankles when they dragged him out.”
