The news broke late last night that Jedward, of all people, are to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The winning song that is to fly the flag for Ireland is called ‘Waterline’, so you better get used to it. The song was chosen on the Late Late Show Eurosong Special through a combination of public and regional jury vote. But we’re sure the odd ‘brown paper envelope’ made its vote too, if you know what we mean. Who knows?

A total of five acts took part in the Eurosong Special, but it was almost a dead cert that ‘the Jedward’s’ would win. The others who took part were Celtic Whisper with Maria McCool, Donna McCaul, Andrew Mann, Úna Gibney and David Shannon and then, of course, there was Jedward.

The Eurovision is being held in Azerbaijan sometime in May, with Ireland competing in the first semi-final on Tuesday May 22.

There’s the video above. Have a listen and let us know if you think we have a snowballs chance in hell to win this bloody thing.
