This guy is either the ultimate villain, or an absolute hero…

Last night, while playing for Farmington High School, senior goaltender Austin Krause left the rink in spectacular fashion. He scored a deliberate own-goal, flipped off his coaches and then saluted the crowd before skating off to the dressing room…

His team was 1-0 up, but Krause’s own-goal levelled things to 1-1. With three minutes left on the clock Farmington HS were forced to bring on their third string goalie (their first choice was injured) and to the surprise of absolutely no-one the opposing team, Chaska High School, scored the game’s winning goal.

Apparently the whole ordeal was over Krause, a senior, playing second string to the injured first choice who is a sophomore. One thing is for sure; Krause’s high school hockey days are well and truly over.

Still, what a way to go out…
