A linesman, or in this case lineswoman from Brazil caught a full force clearance right in the face this weekend, and here’s the video to prove it
Thankfully, football is changing and we can see that female referees and referee’s assistants are becoming a more common sight on football grounds around the world, with perhaps Sian Massey being widely known as one of the best examples, who rarely gets a decision wrong.
Gender aside, taking a clearance full force in the head is going to hurt no matter what, which is exactly what happens to this poor female referee’s assistant in the game between Atlético Clube Goianiense and Paraná Clube in Brazil this weekend.
The commentators are on hand to let us know that she’s ok, and she’s back up on her feet a few moments later, but it’s still a fair belt of the ball it has to be said.
This video is the reason that we’ve taken to wearing American football helmets to all our five-a-side games. Sure people think we look silly, but when we go up for a header, they know about it.
