When Appalachian State’s reserve centre Brain Okam stood up to the free throw line he was undoubtedly feeling a bit nervous. His team was already leading by 10 so all Okam had to do was loft the ball into the basket and the game would have been pretty much over. Sadly, the nerves got the better of him…
Instead of swooshing the ball in the net like anyone else would in his situation, Okam lofts the ball straight into the air – about 10 feet short of the rim. After leading for most of the game, Okam’s team would then go on to lose 70-64 against Western Carolina University.
It’s a pretty woeful attempt we think you’ll agree and it’s definitely one that Okam won’t forget anytime soon.
