Cork Manager Denis Walsh doesn’t believe that Kilkenny can be stopped in their quest to capture a fifth consecutive Liam McCarthy Cup.

Following Cork’s defeat to Kilkenny in the All-Ireland hurling semi-final,  the Cork manager was asked whether he thought either of the other semi-finalist could defeat Kilkenny.

“Truthfully, I don’t,” Walsh said.

“Tipperary and Waterford will take a bit out of each other next week, I’m sure, and whoever comes through will relish the challenge. But we relished the challenge and we fell well short.”

Kilkenny defeated Cork 3-22 to 0-19 on Sunday, with goals from Eddie Brennan, Aidan Fogarty and Richie Power.

Waterford will take on Tipperary in the other semi-final on Sunday 15 August in Croke Park. The ball will be thrown in at 3.30pm.
