The Sligo County Board have reappointed Kevin Walsh as manager of the county’s footballers following a meeting on Monday night.
Galway native Walsh had been linked with a return to manage his home county following the departure of Joe Kernan earlier this month.
Walsh, who won two all-Ireland titles as a player with the Tribesmen, will remain in charge of the Yeats County for another two years, however, after his reappointment was unanimously accepted at the board meeting.
Walsh led Sligo to the Division 3 league title earlier this year and achieved back to back promotions in the league since taking over in November 2008. The Yeats County defeated both Mayo and Galway in Connacht this year before falling to Roscommon in the provincial decider and to Down in Round 4 of the qualifiers.
