Want to save some easy money this summer? How about DIY ice cream

In weather like this, it's customary to crack out a tasty ice cream, but if your favourite one is looking a tad too expensive then why not make some yourself.

In weather like this, it’s customary to crack out a tasty ice cream, but if your favourite one is looking a tad too expensive then why not make some yourself.

If you enjoy entertaining and you’re a fan of the hit TV series ‘Come Dine with Me’ (or if you’ve been forced by the missus to watch it) you’ll no doubt have seen at least one person make an absolute b*lls of making homemade ice cream. Truthfully, it’s not the easiest of tasks, but now it’s been made a heck of a lot simpler all thanks to a packet of powder.

All you need to make your very own homemade, DIY ice cream is to get a bowl, a whisk, some milk and a packet of Angel Delight’s ice cream mix. Simples.

Once you’ve mixed the ingredients, you simply pop it in the freezer and leave it for four hours. So far you can get strawberry, chocolate, butterscotch, and vanilla flavoured sachets, but we’re sure a beer flavoured one is on the way (if not, we’re claiming the patent).

Making ice cream from scratch can be a right pain in the a*se, mainly because you have to constantly stir it as it’s freezing, otherwise it crystallises and tastes crap. However, the Angel Delight ice cream mix doesn’t crystallise as it’s freezing, so it stays creamy and smooth.

Now you can finally make your own ice cream and save a few pennies while you’re at it.
