Reports on Sunday morning had claimed the striker had put pen to paper on a £7om deal.
Wayne Rooney has not signed a new deal with Manchester United, contrary to talk in a lot of the Sunday newspapers.
The 28-year-old was said to have a agreed a four-and-a-half year deal that would net him £300,000 a week, but the yellow ticker on Sky Sports News reads: SKY SOURCES: WAYNE ROONEY YET TO SIGN CONTRACT WITH MANCHESTER UNITED CONTRARY TO NEWSPAPER REPORTS TODAY.
Rooney has had a chequered couple of years at the club, and the signing on Juan Mata in January suggested that he could be part of a massive overhaul by David Moyes in the summer.
However, Moyes sees Rooney as the cornerstone in his new United team and is set to make him club captain this summer.
